Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2025
msga is an open-source desktop client for Slack. This policy explains what data is collected and how it is used when you visit msga.app or use the msga application.
Website analytics
The msga.app website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymised usage statistics — pages visited, session duration, and general device/browser information. No personally identifiable information is included. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
The msga application
The msga desktop application:
- Connects directly to Slack's API on your behalf using credentials you provide.
- Does not transmit any data to msga's servers — there are none.
- Does not collect telemetry, crash reports, or usage analytics.
- Stores your Slack API token locally on your device only.
All data exchanged while using the app passes between your device and Slack's infrastructure under Slack's Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics — website analytics. Google Privacy Policy.
- Slack Technologies — all in-app messaging data. Slack Privacy Policy.
Cookies
The website uses cookies set by Google Analytics. The app does not use cookies.
